I am Anuradha Sandeepika. As the founder of LLV – Lens Light Visuals, I strive not only to present a series of images to the world, but to recreate the silence and peace that your soul feels through those images. My work has always been rooted in nature, silence, natural light and especially the spiritual landscapes of Sri Lanka. The identity of my brand is a peaceful, soulful and mindful vision. Photography is not just a technique for me, it is a medium that touches the spiritual side of life.
Through this blog post, I would like to share with you the spiritual experience I experienced at that moment and the vision of the LLV brand.
That wonderful moment when the silence of our hearts meets the rhythm of water.
A Tale of a Silent Moment
On that rotting log leaning against the water’s surface, these two soulmates pause for a moment. They are in no hurry; they listen to the beautiful silence of nature, teaching us the art of living in the present moment. Each gentle ripple in the water brings us closer to a spiritual message about the flow of life and the calm within it. This is not just a scene, but a silent prayer that heals the mind.
What is Spiritual Photography?
Many see photography as a technical process done through expensive cameras and lenses. But at LLV, we believe that photography is not “Seeing” but “Feeling”. For us, born in a country like Sri Lanka, there is a deep spirituality hidden in the environment around us. Capturing the calmness of our lakes, vast forests and silent temple grounds through the lens of our camera is truly like meditation.
Look at this photo again. The closeness between the two birds and the quiet environment around them tells us that we are not a separate part of the world, but an extension of nature itself. To convey such a profound feeling to the viewer through a photograph, the photographer must first experience that silence in his or her own mind.
LLV Visual Style: The Art of Silence
I always make sure to create each photograph according to the LLV Master Visual Style. This photograph reflects that style well:
1. Minimalist Composition: Instead of filling the frame with too much, the silence and solitude can be intensified by allowing negative space. Here, the water and the tree trunk stand out as the main objects.
2. Low-angle shot: I took this image as close to the water as possible. This makes the viewer feel at the same level and very connected to the birds.
3. Soft Natural Light: Instead of harsh sunlight, the soft
light filtering through the clouds beautifully highlights the ripples in the
water and the texture of the tree trunk.
4. Color Palette: Muted earth tones and natural greens,
suitable for the Sri Lankan environment, take precedence here. This helps to
give the viewer a sense of calm.
Nature’s Teachers: Some Lessons
Nature is my greatest teacher. We can learn a lot from a bird resting on the water’s surface or a leaf swaying in the wind. Often we run to take a photo to find the “best image”. But at LLV we teach to “stop”.
1. Stop: Before you take a photo, put the camera aside and look at it.
2. Listen: Listen to the sound of the wind, the sound of the
water and the birds.
3. Breathe: Fill your lungs with the freshness of the
environment.
When you are one with the environment like this, what your camera lens captures is not an image, but a living soul.
