Nature is not just a collection of objects that we see around us. It is a great religion that silently converses with our souls and teaches us the deep meaning of life. As the creator of LLV – Lens Light Visuals, I always strive to bring you a quiet moment that goes beyond an image captured by the camera lens, and provides peace to the mind and spiritual awakening.
Today I take you to a special moment experienced by the sun in a beautiful lakeside region of Sri Lanka, when the sun prince awakens.
Painting on still water
The scene that unfolded in front of me was extremely beautiful. In a moment of silence, on the lakeside of pink lotus flowers, a white stork spreads its wings and prepares to soar into the sky. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you look at this photo? It is not just a bird's flight, but a journey of the soul, free from the burden of the world and towards freedom.
Here I would like to inform you about the LLV Master Visual Style that I used. Here, I tried to build a close relationship with this bird and its environment by taking the photo from a very low angle (Low-angle shot). Also, the soft, diffused natural light of the morning sun beautifully highlights the delicate tissues of the bird's wings and the ripples in the water.
Biological and behavioral information of birds (Bio and behavior)
In this photo, you see a bird called the Great Egret, which is commonly found in the wetlands of Sri Lanka. Scientifically, it is known as Ardea alba.
• Appearance: They have very pure white feathers, a long neck and a yellow beak. During the breeding season, the color of their beak and the color of the area around their eyes changes slightly.
• Behavior: The stork is a very patient bird. It can stay in the same position in the water for hours, watching its prey. This "stillness" is a great inspiration for my photography.
• Flight: As shown in the photo, they begin their flight in a very majestic manner. When they fly, they bend their necks in the shape of the letter 'S', which is the easiest feature to distinguish them from other birds.
• Habitat: They are commonly found in the lakes, paddy fields and lagoons of Sri Lanka. They are a bird species that contributes greatly to maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.
The Spiritual Side of Photography
For me, photography is not just about manipulating technical tools. It is a meditation. To capture this moment when a bird takes to the sky, I must have the same silence within me. Only when you escape the noise of the world and tune into the rhythm of nature can you capture such a "spiritual moment" on camera.
Look at the color palette of this photo. It has soft earthy tones and natural greens that are suitable for the natural environment of Sri Lanka. Through this, the viewer gets an experience that is pleasing to the eye and brings peace to the mind.
Gentle Tips for Beginners (Gentle Camera Notes)
If you are also a lover of nature and want to capture its beauty, try these things before you bother with technical equipment:
1. Practice patience: Nature never gets upset. You stay in one place quietly. Then the environment will trust you and reveal its secrets.
2. Get down to the height of nature: Instead of always standing and taking photos, sit or lie down on the ground and get to the eye level of the animals. Then the image will be more intimate.
3. Go for soft light: The light at sunrise or sunset is beautiful. It casts a soft glow on the subject.
4. Look with your heart: Before you think about technical settings, think about how you can capture the peace you experience in that moment.
Final Thoughts
Life is always moving forward. But along the way, we need to stop for a moment and take a breath like this white stork. Nature teaches us the power of silence.
Through LLV – Lens Light Visuals, I always try to bring that power and peace to you. I hope this quiet moment has added joy to your day.
